The Finance, Accounting & Control (FAC) area at IIM Amritsar brings together a research-active faculty group with expertise spanning corporate finance, financial accounting, capital markets, risk management, and governance.

Faculty research engages with a wide range of contemporary themes, including corporate capital structure, ESG-linked financing, IPO markets, mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance, analyst behavior, and the application of machine learning in finance. Research findings have been published in leading international and national journals. Faculty have presented at premier forums such as the India Finance Conference, the Academy of Management Annual Meeting, the European Financial Management Association, the Global Finance Conference, and the PAN IIM World Management Conference.

In terms of teaching, the area serves students across the PGP, EPGP, Doctoral, and Integrated Programme in Management (IPM). Core offerings, including Financial Accounting, Corporate Finance, and Managerial Accounting, are complemented by a range of electives. The IPM program, with its strong grounding in economics and finance, particularly benefits from the analytical depth of the area, equipping young learners with the financial literacy and quantitative skills essential for leadership in an increasingly complex world.
