Professional Summary

Dr Akhilesh Kumar Kamalakant Yadav is an Assistant Professor in the area of Finance, Accounting and Control at the Indian Institute of Management – Amritsar (IIM-Am). He
completed his PhD in Finance & Economics from the prestigious Indian Institute of Management Mumbai (IIM Mumbai), (formerly known as NITIE) under the guidance of Prof Dr Ajaya Kumar Panda. His doctoral research, titled “Essays on Capital Structure and its Dynamics: An Empirical Investigation of Manufacturing Firms,” examines how capital
structure choices interact with financial flexibility, monetary policy impulses, and exchange-rate variation in an emerging economy context.

He has peer-reviewed publications in the International Review of Economics and Finance (November 2024), the Australasian Accounting, Business and Finance Journal (October 2024), and the International Journal of Finance & Economics (April 2023). Methodologically, his work relies on applied econometrics and firm-level panel data analysis, with a strong emphasis on policy relevance and managerial implications. He has also authored teaching case studies and book chapters in related areas of finance.

Dr Yadav specialises in a wide range of finance subjects, including Corporate Valuation, Derivatives and Risk Management, Fixed Income Securities, and Financial Management. He is also well-versed in Business Statistics and Research Methodology, with hands-on expertise in tools like SPSS, STATA, and Python for econometric and data-driven analysis. His teaching and research seamlessly blend financial theory with practical, technology-driven insights.
