Dr. Shuvabrata Chakraborty is an Assistant Professor in the Quantitative Methods and Operations Management area at the Indian Institute of Management Amritsar. He has completed his PhD from the Indian Institute of Management Lucknow under the guidance of Prof. Yogesh K. Agarwal. His research interest primarily lies in the application of Operations Research to solve problems in transportation and telecommunication. Specifically, his works concern integer programming techniques such as the branch-and-cut algorithms based on valid inequalities, decomposition techniques, and metaheuristics. He has received the Best Paper award (2nd Prize) in the Theory and Methodologies category at the Doctoral Colloquium of SOM 2019, held at IIT Kanpur.
Shuvabrata is a B.Tech. (Gold Medalist) in Mechanical Engineering from the National Institute of Technology Silchar and has worked as a piping engineer with the Engineers India Limited (EIL) for nearly five years before pursuing his PhD.
