Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) contribute significantly to the world’s economic growth and development. MSME’s employ more than 460 million people alone in India. However, in the 21st century, organizations, battered by an increasing rate of disruptions, finding traditional and incremental approach of managing businesses irrelevant. MSMEs are more susceptible to such forces as they are also plagued by other ‘traditional’ challenges, like lack of innovation, poor infrastructure, inadequacy of funds, technology knowledge gaps, lack of proper skill and training, inability to attract talented workforce. Therefore, it is the need of the hour to study the challenges faced by the sector and search for new theories, tools, and frameworks to help MSMEs to tide over these turbulent changes.
In such a backdrop, IIM Amritsar announces the 1st International Conference on Management of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises with a theme of Rediscovering Business Practices in the Era of Disruptions to be held on 26-27th September 2020 in Amritsar, Punjab. This conference will provide a platform that will bring together the policymakers, professionals, academicians and researchers to share and discuss the knowledge and research ideas to help MSMEs to take advantage of various emerging trends in business practices.
IIM Amritsar calls for the extended abstract submissions for the same in the form of case studies, conceptual, empirical and practitioner papers in the following (but not limited) areas:
Selected papers (subject to a peer-review) will be published in an international journal and/or in an edited book with ISBN number by a renowned publishing house (to be announced soon).
In order to be considered for best paper award and best paper student award, the authors are required to submit full paper before 15th August 2020. The scientific committee will select the best paper & best student paper based on blind peer review system. A paper is eligible for best paper student award if the first author is a full-time student. This must be indicated in the submission process.

Conference fee includes conference kit, admission to the conference, technical sessions, plenary sessions, lunch, networking breaks with refreshments and Gala dinner. Doctoral students must upload a certificate of student status from the head of the department with a seal, on the letterhead of the institute. Alternatively, the Student ID card can also be uploaded (both sides).
